Tips:

• The old-school non-secure way to login to a command line session over the Internet is the telnet command.
  
• The common non-secure way to move files over the Internet is FTP, using the ftp command.
  
• The curl and wget commands provide easy ways to fetch entire web pages or even sites from the command line.
  
• The sftp command uses ssh to provide an FTP-like interface for file transfer. Transmit is a nice GUI program that does SFTP.
  
• There is a command-line web browser, called links that can be installed on Mac OS X.
